Swarna, Silly and I spent a weekend in the Nilgiris -- one night in Bandipur in Karnataka and the next in adjoining Mudumalai in Tamil Nadu. In Bandipur, we stayed at the new wing of Jungle Lodges Bandipur Safari Lodge and in Mudumalai in the fantastic Wilds at Northern Hay coffee estate that was once an ancestral coffee warehouse. Activities in Bandipur consisted of a couple of jeep safaris. In the Wilds, we did an evening / night jeep safari and the following morning did a long walk through coffee estates to the Singara dam. On our way back to Bangalore, we stopped for lunch at the customary Lalit Mahal Palace.
