I made a 'family' trip to Talacauvery -- the place that is generally considered to be the source of the Cauvery River. It is located in the Brahmagiri hill (not to be confused with the Brahmagiri range further South) near Bhagamandala in Kodagu (Coorg) district, Karnataka, 1,276 m. above sea level. We drove to Talacauvery via Bhagamandala and stayed at the wonderful little homestay called Raksh near Siddapur. Run by couple Sujay Subaiah & Deena Sujay, the homestay provides fantastic hospitality and fabulous food (even for us veggies in Coorg!). After our Talacauvery visit, we had time to interact with camp elephants at the Dubare Elephant Camp run by Jungle Lodges.
